Baby Yeti Pullover
Being a knitter I have large projects and small projects. Few of them are as fast or as fun as this one. I was so excited to learn that a friend of mine was expecting his first child. I finally had a reason to make this little hoodie pullover sweater. I found it on Daily Knitter and being free here is the link to the pattern: Baby Yeti Plush Hoodie
This sweater is a quick weekend project as it is made on size 10 knitting needles. Can you believe that? For a baby sweater, that is HUGE.
The hood posed a problem as it doesn’t match up well to the sweater when sewing together all the pieces but remember it is not meant to stay on or be fitted. Since something this color collects oils from your hands during the knitting process it is best to wash well before giving. Since this is a baby sweater, wash with a gentle fabric wash meant for baby’s sensitive skin. That way, this is ready to use at a moment’s notice. I mean, the new mom has enough to do!
I am certainly happy with the results and the dad-to-be was speechless… now that was a compliment! Congrats to the new parents-to-be!

Hey, I found this pattern and I was wondering if you’ve ever tried making it a little bigger? I wanted to make it for my daughter who is a 12mo.. And since I’m new to knitting, any idea how I do that?
Thanks!
Usually I would say that you should try bigger needles but since this is already done on large needles… try adding stitches. I don’t think the hood would need more stitches since it was quite large to begin with. For adding stitches I would look at some other patterns to see what number they cast on with for a 1 year old pattern.
For the best results you might want to take the pattern to a knitting store in your area. Most staff at these stores will gladly lend their expertise.
Good luck!
